El memorial Kamila Skolimowska, celebrado este domingo en Silesia Stadium de Chozow, Polonia, en el marco de la octava válida de la Diamond League, la múltiple campeona mundial de salto triple, la venezolana Yulimar Rojas alcanzó la victoria con su mejor registro de temporada, 15.18 metros, para continuar liderando el ranking universal de la World Athletics en 2023.
La también campeona olímpica en Tokio 2021, quien viene de ganar en los recién finalizados Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe San Salvador 2023, se impuso a la ucraniana Maryna Bekh-Romancuk (14.70) y a la cubana Leyanis Pérez (14.67). El cuarto lugar fue para nacida igualmente en la isla antillana, Liadagmi Povea (14.62).
El rendimiento de Rojas, quien se prepara para revalidar el título mundial en Budapest, el próximo mes de agosto, fue de la siguiente manera: 14.43 metros en su primer intento, 14.80 en el segundo, seguido de un foul, mientras que en el cuarto salto logró un 14.70, en la quinta oportunidad 14.86 y para finalizar el 15.18 que le permitió la victoria.
La plusmarquista venezolana expresó a los representantes de los medios de comunicación luego de su obtener su segundo triunfo en la actual Liga de Diamante, “me siento muy bien y tengo mucha confianza después de la actuación de hoy.
